Colour experiments

19 Mar

I’m slowly starting to wrap my head around colour theory, the basics at least. I’ve already done some colour relationship experiments with paints so I also wanted to make it come to life digitally, as that will be my main platform. This was all done in Illustrator using the blend tool (which is a great little tool I didn’t know how to use until tonight!) Its interesting to see how things don’t always work out the way they should according to general colour theory when working in a digital medium. For example. blending yellow and blue does not yield green but lighter shades of purple. You do get green when blending cyan and yellow but not quite a pure green. Also, blending yellow and magenta does not yield red but tints of pink…or close to.
